About Dermaplaning

Who is not suitable for Dermaplaning?

The following may not be suitable for treatment or may require medical clearance.

-Active Acne

-Auto Immune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, HIV, Hepatitis, etc.


-History of cold sores (Herpes Simplex)

-Accutane/Roaccutane use in the past 12 months

-Use of blood thinners:

Heparin, Coumadin, Warfarin, Baby Aspirin, etc.

-Pregnancy or breast feeding

-Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis, Inflamed Rosacea, Rash or Wound in treatment area

-Keloid Scarring 

-Topicals (Retinols, AHA's, etc.) Must be off these 7 days prior

-Sun burned skin 

-Recent cosmetic facial procedures. Needs doctor's approval.

-Recent cosmetic injections: Botox, Restalyne, Collagen, etc.

-Recent IPL or Laser treatments. Must wait 4 weeks.

-Use of Corticosteroids/Topical Steroids. Needs Doctors approval.

-Had recent facial waxing, threading or depilation. Must wait 7 days.

-Had recent face peel. Must wait 14 days.

-Had recent permanent makeup. Must wait 4 weeks.

-Are currently on prescription skin medications. Needs Doctor's approval.
